Taipei City Government has revealed the survey result: 75% of Taipei Citizens approve the promotion of public housing.
Today The Research, Development and Evaluation Commission, Taipei City Government has revealed the result of phone survey from May 30th to June 1st 2016 with target group being citizens registered in Taipei City. The topic was on various government construction projects including public housing which has received high attention from the public recently. (1056 effective samples, margin of error of ± 0.0302 at 95% confidence level.) According to the survey result, 74.3% of Taipei citizens approve the government’s “Rent only, not for sell” policy for public housing. This indicates that the direction of the Taipei City Government’s policy is correct and also matches with the public’s opinion. 10% of the group (113 people) did not support public housing. The reasons were broken down to: 1. Just not support (26%). 2. Thinks the complicated public housing tenants could affect the area’s living quality (20.5%). 3. Inappropriate choice of the location (14.4%). 4. Lack of pre-communication (12.8%). 5. Others (15.8%). Moreover, only 8.4% of the public think it would affect the surrounding traffic.
